Crazy News!

Toblerone and I have been working on getting my visa extended here because, well, I need more time! And with the teaching opportunity, I obviously want to be here for that! So while I was at my language school today working out the fine print for my student’s visa, the headmaster for the “English Program” came into our meeting and told me he really would love to have me teach English for them full time! I’m so excited for the opportunity! I’d be teaching Business English of course and maybe basic English as well! I also have another opportunity to teach English at more of a tutoring center I guess but I would have a full class room and teach them and give them extra help. Bring in the dough!!

How do you like them apples, America?! No teaching degree and I’m about to become a full time teacher! I’m pretty excited about it. It’s what I’ve always wanted to do with myself and now it’s really happening! Really looking forward to talking to the headmaster again and to go from there! YAY!

Just a quick post today because I’m busy planning my BFF’s bachelorette party, bridal shower, and organizing our trip to Ireland which is in…count it…..7 DAYS!!!! This time next week I will be getting myself on a plane to the most beautiful country in the world (in my opinion.) I’ll take lots of pictures! Be prepared for lots of green! 🙂

Until next time, Readers!!!! xoxoxoxoxo

Blooms, Trips, and Teaching!

So many new things are happening around here lately and I’m stoked about it! First off, my flowers that I planted are blooming. I’m now seeing the error in my ways of how far apart I planted things but that is just how the learning process goes! I know better for next time! But I feel like a real home owner now! 🙂

Secondly, Toblerone and I are going to IRELAND!!!!!!! Holy crap…I’m beyond excited for this. It’s been well over 10 years since I was last there and I get to see some people I haven’t seen in a while! It’s my favorite place in the world to be besides Cape Cod. There are just no words! So when I don’t write on here for a week in June…thats because I’m having a BLAST in Ireland.

Third, BIG NEWS!!!!! My teacher friend did an amazing thing for me! She asked the principal of the school if I could come in and teach the English class kids for 3-4 weeks!!! HELLO AWESOMENESS!!! This time we will be learning about Atlanta and other such things. I can’t wait! Two times a week I get to hang out with these awesome kids (if you haven’t read about how awesome they are…please do so here.)

Anywho, that is what is happening on my side of the world! Busy bee here this summer so the blog is suffering a little bit! But I promise to get back into it!

Until next time, Readers!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Valentine’s Day Aftermath

I do realize that posting about a holiday that has passed (5 days ago now as I’m writing this) is somewhat annoying especially to those that don’t particularly like that day (or run-on sentences) BUT I do feel it necessary to share with you anyways 🙂

I was up early at 5:45am for a busy day! While I was getting ready I heard Toblerone rumbling around downstairs which isn’t part of the every day routine. It’s usually something like he’s in the shower, I go downstairs to feed Harley and make Toblerone’s breakfast and lunch. Then Toblerone comes downstairs to take Harley out. Then that’s it! This all happens within 15 minutes or so. Today however was different. I go downstairs and find a tea and my FAVORITE breakfast (toast with egg) ready and waiting for me! *LOVE*

After breakfast I finished getting myself ready to go see the kids in the school again. I was SO excited for this. For some reason – when I see these kids, it absolutely makes my week so much better! Another reason why I should be a teacher…just need to get my butt back to school! Anywho, I did the usual with them. We talked about Valentine’s Day and how we celebrate it in the US, I passed around chocolate chip cookies for them to try (they aren’t popular here and certainly don’t taste like my family recipe!), then I had them make a Valentine for someone special.

After a few minutes they asked me to leave the room for a little bit and I was slightly confused. They guarded the door and when I was finally able to come back in they had for me a sweatshirt and mug signed by each of their names. Both items say, ” I *heart* Germany.” HOW DARLING! These kids are incredible! I mean, I’ve met with them now for the second time and this is how they thank me! Unbelievable! I’m starting to really question how children are raised in the US. These kids already learn at a young age to shower me with gifts?!?!?! SOLD!

So after I started to cry from the sweet gesture it was time to wrap up the class and head home. I had a VERY busy day ahead of me!

Harley helped me clean up the entire house and set up our V-Day Extravaganza for Toblerone. In the midst of the vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and the like I stopped to check my Facebook for a split second. That’s a lie….30 minutes maybe. I was doing my regular search through boring status updates and what not and I see that Toblerone posted something (which he NEVER does) with the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day. I love you!”

What was it do you ask?!?!?!…….. A TICKET HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! He posted my ticket itinerary and left it there for me to find! So as I sat there I tried to read the dates through blurry tear-filled eyes and figure out if that was real or not! I was FREAKING OUT and poor Harley is running back and forth looking for his toys to play with. He figured that I was happy so this was an opportune time to get some play time out of me!

Do I not have the most amazing boyfriend in the world?! Granted a giant sparkler for the ring finger would also be welcomed however this took the cake! So off I go for 10 days to great old US of A!

To finish the night I had a warm bath drawn with candles waiting upstairs for Toblerone. As soon as he got home he jumped in there, I put on a boy movie for him, handed him a whiskey, a little snack, and off I went to the Kitchen to make a special dinner! (Recipe comes later…DELISH!) I made linguine with a Dijon Cream Chicken with almonds, the cheddar biscuit just like the ones we love from Red Lobster, with chocolate covered frozen banana bits for after dinner 🙂

I gave him a photobook of our year (I’ve done this for the past 3 years with him), a memory jar, and home-made cards from Harley and myself.

It was one of the best Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had…and I can’t wait to see what I get next year!!!! How does one top a ticket home?

Hope you all had a great day whether single or taken! Bon Voyage!

Until next time, Readers!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

My Visit With German Students

I just returned only minutes ago from a classroom where I got to sit and hang out with a bunch of German Kids for 50 minutes. Even though I should be cleaning for my big Halloween party tonight I had to stop for a moment and write about this experience because I’m just so excited about it. These kids were fantastic!!! I think I’m finally settled on what I want to be in life..It only took me 10 years but teaching would be ideal.

So my friend here is an English teacher and she asked me to come in and talk with the kids since they are learning about NY and NYC. Perfect! I was a little worried if they would understand me or if they would think I’m strange but they were so great. They laughed at all the right things, they listened as I told them about my experience with 9/11, just an all around great atmosphere. And here’s the fun part…they were all totally into my sweet spider rings and candy corn that I made them try. (Yes, made them!) It’s America’s #1 Candy! 🙂

(Great face….I know….lol)

So here are a few pics of me with the kids, I told the kids I would post them today already. I had so much fun and would love to come back around Christmas time and hang out with them again! 🙂  They spoke EXCELLENT English, I mean, seriously. I’m still trying to learn English but they were so great and had 5 questions each ready to throw at me! They all really made my day! 🙂

My new buddies!

Crazy Faces!

Special thanks to my Mom back home for sending me all the goodies I needed for this day to be a success! 🙂
