Just this past week I was in a “music store” of sorts here in Germany and came upon this new section called, “black music.” In the U.S., I would say some would consider that almost racist or politically incorrect but in the German culture, to them this describes better the Rap/ Hip Hop genre.
Don’t believe me? See for yourself!!
What is your take? Would you find this offensive?!

The Kiss! This was taken of my husband and I when we first started dating. This moment was captured at my brother’s wedding. I brought him there to meet the entire family! Not easy for a German man!!

For this weeks challenge I happened to come across a twist of “foreign” on something that is familiar. We all remember the “play food” as a child. The German children get German food. Complete with wurst and sauerkraut! And well as Swabisch soup and a breakfast set complete with Nutella! Take a look!

Sometimes my own anxieties and fears get in the way of how incredibly blessed I am to have this experience. I forget that I’m an American girl given the opportunity to live in another country. My every day life is simple but different and in sync with the culture around me. Today I took the moment to look around and really see how beautiful the view from my backyard really is. The same place I see EVERY single day while walking our (American) dog, Harley. A view I certainly take for granted every day. Starting today, I will be 100 times more appreciative of the life I have and really just try to live in the moment! Here’s my everyday life…enjoy!
Taken only yesterday in the Austrian Alps during my 2 day hike. In the background you can just catch a glimpse of a small waterfall and in the foreground, a small house where farmers stay in the summer time while their cattle roam free and feed on the fresh grass. Incredible views near and far 🙂
